The school has a veterinary medicine magnet program, which is the first of its kind in the area. A major donation to the school from the surrounding Polo community allowed this awesome occurrence to occur.

The school is well known in the area for its sports teams, as several have competed at both a state and national level including Swimming, Baseball (13 drafted to MLB after HS), Ladies' Lacrosse (2002 & 2004 State Champions), soccer (boys' team reached the state Class 6-A final in 2007 and Women's team won the State championship in 2008) and Cheerleading. The school sponsors varsity teams in the following sports:

The debate team has had much success in regional and even national competition.

The Mighty Wolverine Sound marching band has many participants. The band is directed by Mary S. "Owl" Oser. She prides her students and staff for their hard work and effort. Recently the band placed last in all [1]. The school's choirs are Visions (Beginning Choir), Montage (All Girls Show Choir), and Impressions (Advanced Boys and Girls Show Choir). Impressions has traveled to Europe (China, Scotland, Prague, Greece, etc.) as American Embassadors to preform.
