Wellington Boone is an American evangelical Christian leader, church planter, and author.
As a nationally recognized platform speaker for Promise Keepers and the author of the best selling popular Christian books, Your Wife Is Not Your Momma, Breaking Through, My Journey With God and The Low Road to New Heights, Wellington Boone's primary goal is to lead people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Wellington Boone was ordained into ministry in 1973, the same year that he married his childhood sweetheart, Katheryn, whom he met in Germany during his high school years. He incorporated Living Word Evangelistic Association in approximately 1983, and later changed the name to Wellington Boone Ministries with the encouragement of his leaders. His first church that is still in existence and under his covering is Manna Christian Fellowship of Richmond, Virginia which was incorporated in 1985. The Fellowship of International Churches was started in 1994 when the founding pastors conferred on Pastor Boone the title of Bishop.
Wellington Boone's goal is to please God by a lifestyle of holiness and humility, to teach and preach who God is through study and revelation from the Word of God, and to reproduce himself through planting churches and making disciples. He relates to pastors and leaders as a father to his children. In time, they come of age as leaders themselves and plant their own churches and establish ministries. [1]

He has particularly been critical of comparisons between the Gay Rights Movement and the Civil Rights Movement [2].
Bishop Wellington Boone, a speaker at Justice Sunday III, proclaimed, "The black community must stop criticizing Uncle Tom, because he is an example of Christ-like humility...He is a role model for the Black Community of forgiveness, despite being used and ultimately killed..."[3]. Read more about Bishop Wellington Boone's stance on Uncle Tom in his book entitled, Breaking Through.
He was recently one of 86 prominent evangelicals to urge action on global warming [4].
