From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Welford-on-Avon is a village of around 1,800 inhabitants situated some 6 km (4 miles) west-south-west of the town of Stratford-upon-Avon in the county of Warwickshire, England.
Until 1931 Welford-on-Avon was in Gloucestershire. It has the tallest maypole in England. There are three pubs and many Tudor half-timbered cottages, mostly close to the village church, which is the older part of Welford.[1]
