Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your suggestions on the Smurfs article, but you really shouldn't be afraid to make the edits yourself. If anything goes unexpectedly wrong while you're submitting the edit, the other editors will be more than happy to get things back to how they were - Wikipedia keeps a full, easily-accessible archive of every single page, so even if a page was intentionally deleted by a vandal, another editor could revert back to the previous, intact version in seconds.
