Vällkommen!

I am a German guy whose wiki-nick is Wellus. Believe it or not but my nick is actually the German word Welle that would stand for wave in English. If you wonder where this moniker comes from; well, it has to do with my original German surname.

Yeah, and this is my user page on wikipedia and I am going to try to display here a little about myself as good as I can.

If you think there is something wrong or you think there can be something improved or you just have any suggestion then I'm very happy for your suggestions. For this you can use my User_talk:Wellus.

In case you should feel offended by something, well, you don't have to read it. Keep in mind this userpage just happend to contain basically only stuff that is written due to mere opinion apart for some historical and scientific facts. It is therefore not a reliable source but I am glad if you should find something interesting anyway.

Have a lot of fun!

[edit] About Me

[edit] Some Data

I was born in a town close to Berlin in Germany in 1989 in the eastern part of Germany (in the German Democratic Republic).

My father was an assigned staff sergeant in the Nationale Volksarmee who was stationed in this area due to his draft. He met my mother there and they married. I was conceived and lived there with them until about 1992 when my family moved back to the place in the federal state of Thuringia were my father's hometown was.

I was going to nursery school from then on until 1996 where I happend to attend a public Grundschule (basic school).

The German school system then in fourth grade demanded me to go to secondary school and I was going to attend a Gymnasium (grammer school) in a nearby village. The school was kind of rural because it was located in a village and had mainly people from other small villages attending the school too. Students where usually brought there by bus and also brought back the same way.

I used to go there up until 8th grade in 2004 when I passed an exam that allowed me to attend the public Spezialschule (special school) Carl-Zeiss-Gymnasium in the city of Jena. Because it's a little farther away I was going to the boarding school affiliated to the school.

Then in 2006 I left for an exchange student year to the United States where I am currently at.

[edit] What I am Currently Doing

At the moment I am living in Washington State (USA) where I do my senior year (12th grade) by attending a public High School.

It is actually a pretty nice and interesting experience even though it will end soon.

I then will have to go back in 11th grade at my German school. So there are two more years of secondary school awaiting me back until I can graduate in 2009 and get my Abitur (If everything goes smoothly at school). And I can tell you that it will be a major change to get used to the German school system again when having slacked off a year at an American school before.

[edit] Future Plans

Even though I like to talk about myself as not really having a so-called "goal in life" there are some very desireable things I would like to see happening. One is to get as smoothly as possible through all the degrees I'd like to obtain for various reason. One is certainly to be able to work, wherever I work, and the other one is for the mere sake of studying. Because I like to be studious and to gain more and more knowledge about things I am interested in.

Then, sometime one of my main things is to go to Scandinavia. First probably just during the course of my education for instance when being at university as to take the time to study a year abroad. Furtherone, sometime, I would really like to go away to live there. Wonderfull place.

[edit] Self-Assessment

[edit] Wikipedia Involment

I like wikipedia because I deeply support the idea of free and common knowledge of all people where everybody can contribute something. It is very informative and a lot of information are always being updated by just everybody who can add something usefull. Especially if somebody is an expert in a certain field his knowledge is just worth a lot.

I don't really write a whole lot of things but I always enjoy to sit and skim through various articles and just read.

Articles I've started are as follows:

I am always eager in gaining new interesting knowledge and if I know that I can contribute something I will certainly do so.

[edit] Philosophy

This section here was getting a little bit too big and wordy. Also, it started to made some digressions so that I finally I decided to separate it.

[edit] Language

[edit] English

Despite I am still learning, my English skills are sufficient (as far as I can assess that). I am also interested in studying English and to conduct my voyage through the variety of the English vocabulary.

Some things are really to gaze at others are just dumb. (Albeit I like German in some terms more, since English really doesn't have grammar (or not much) what makes German more interesting especially in historical [con]texts. But still, English is a language that is really nice to be examined and perused [...]. English - due to its odd and irregular way of pronunciation - is in my opinion not really suitable to be a world language. However, its easy grammatical rules surely stud the argument for it more.**

[edit] America

Yes, also I've been to this marvelous and the other side of the ocean. Actually quite a while, so that there is one extra section here only to describe that occurrence.

[edit] MySpace

For the normal adolescent things have changed tremendously throughout the last social revolutions of very recent times.

Since the average guy or girl of today's western world seems not to be able to manage his or her friendships and/or relationships without this wondrous online tool anymore, even I have been compelled to reluctantely concede myself to the fact that I may want to have an account there.

If this new way of organzing things on the social level is good or bad is out of the range of questions I would even try to answer. You could certainly, again, analyze it to and fro and interpret as much good or bad in it as you may wish to.

But anyway, this all doesn't change anything at the fact that my MySpace is reachable at:

[edit] V*O*C

Once in the course of my exchange student years learning and remembering vocabulary was getting so nasty that all the writing down and whatsoever did not help it.

Then I decided to go a little bit more professional about it and write and online system that provides me with the right features to organize and visualize the many words.

Further on, the system was getting pretty usefull not just to study and keep track of my vocabulary but also to remember all kind of things that may have to be learned.

The system is accessable at this URL: http://klingspor-thueringen.de/voc

Give it a look, you'll like it!
