Template talk:Welcome!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Note

Please do not change this template, as I am using it to welcome users. Phgao 07:19, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

I also fixed the instructions as they were wrong. Phgao 08:06, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Feature

Is it possible to link "on my talk page" to the poster's actual talk page? Phgao 15:28, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

You could do it like {{template:welcome}} does it, but that requires the first argument to be your username, like {{subst:Welcome!|Phago}}. If you decide to do that, replace "my talk page" with "{{#if:{{{1|}}}|[[user talk:{{{1}}}|my talk page]]|my talk page}}". --Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 15:31, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
I made the change. Now supplying a from argument will make the phrase into a link. « D Trebbien (talk) 00:46 2007 December 11 (UTC)

[edit] Changes

Hi, this is a great template and I use it a lot. Suggestion: because so many people use it, perhaps we could discuss changes to it here before making them. I am not convinced that the last edit improved the template. MSGJ (talk) 16:58, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi MSGJ, sorry. I was unaware that others were using it.
I created a fork of my version at User:Dtrebbien/Templates/Welcome!.
