[edit] Norfolk or Cambridgeshire?

Isn't this place actually in Norfolk rather than Cambridgeshire? Lupin 18:34, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Town or village?

Whilst the article describes Welney as a town, the 'Welney website' quoted as an external reference describes Welney as a parish and village. A quick google shows no sign of any non-wikipedia source for claiming town status.

So I've added a 'citation needed' tag to the claim; if you can quote a source for Welney being chartered as a town, please cite it in the article and remove my tag. If that doesn't happen within a reasonable time, I will amend the article to describe Welney as a village. -- Chris j wood 12:36, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Which county?

The article includes the words:

There is often confusion about which county Welney is in. This is addressed by its website:

"Welney is both a village and a parish in the south-west corner of the county of Norfolk, just across the border with the county of Cambridgeshire..."

I'm none the wiser! Even the Welney website is confused, it appears. Could someone in the know sort this aspect of the article out please? Cleanup notice added to flag this up for attention. SP-KP 23:57, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
