Wedding Daze, (also known as The Pleasure of Your Company/The Next Girl I See) is a 2006 romantic comedy movie, written and directed by Michael Ian Black, with Jason Biggs (Anderson) and Isla Fisher (Katie).
[edit] Plot
Against the advice of his best friend Ted (Michael Weston), Anderson (Jason Biggs) proposes to his girlfriend in public in a Cupid costume. She dies on the spot. A year later, Ted encourages him to start dating again. Anderson is still in mourning and isn't interested in dating, but he reluctantly agrees to placate his friend. On a lark, he asks a waitress, Katie (Isla Fisher), to marry him. To his utter astonishment, she accepts his proposal. (She was in the process of considering her boyfriend's wedding proposal but had her doubts.)
Ted, Anderson, Katie and the rest of the wedding party "borrow" a car from the auto dealership where Ted works (under the pretense of test driving the vehicle) in order to travel to the wedding location. They are arrested for stealing the car. Katie's father escapes from prison to attend the ceremony; joining up with Katie's mother, they also travel to the wedding site, obtaining more appropriate attire by robbing a clothing shop. They are arrested by the police and put in the same cell as the wedding party. They manage to escape by grabbing a gun from one of the guards. Katie and Anderson marry, but all are arrested again. They are released after bribing the judge with a blender.
