WEDU is a PBS member station, serving the Tampa Bay DMA in Florida. The station first signed on the air on October 17, 1958 and is the most-watched PBS station in Florida, and one of the most-watched PBS stations in the United States. Its transmitter is located in Riverview, Florida.

For many years, it was the fifth most-watched PBS member, but has since been passed by KOCE and KLCS in the Los Angeles area.

WEDU is one of two PBS stations in the Tampa Bay market (the other being WUSF), and the only one to carry PBS's main schedule.
