WEBR-CA is a religious television station licensed to Manhattan, New York. It is currently owned by K Licensee Inc., a subsidiary of New York Radio Korea, who operates this station along with Hempstead, New York sister station W27CB. It currently is a 24/7 repeater for Global Christian Network.

[edit] History

WEBR started broadcasting on November 9, 1992 as the low-power station W17BM as an independent television station. Empire Broadcasting, the owner at the time, received the call letters WEBR-LP on April 22, 1997. The station was later sold to NY Radio Korea, who programmed the station as an affiliate of the Korean Broadcasting Corporation.

On March 5, 2001, the call letters changed again, this time to the current WEBR-CA. The programming format changed as well, this time to a Spanish-language version of the Home Shopping Network. This lasted until mid-2005, when the programming was temporarily changed back to KBC, until it was finally changed to its current programming on October 10, 2005.
