Explosive Ordnance Disposalmen, attached to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Six (EODMU-6), Detachment 14, give a thumbs-up as they move toward an HH-60H Seahawk, attached to the "Dragonslayers" of Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron One One (HS-11), during a Special Purpose Insertion/Extraction (SPIE) training exercise aboard nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65). SPIE is a method to rapidly insert or extract Special Forces from terrain not suitable for helicopter landings, in which personnel are suspended from a line attached to a hovering helicopter. Enterprise and embarked Carrier Air Wing One (CVW-1) are currently on a scheduled six-month deployment in support of Maritime Security Operations and the global war on terrorism.
