Weather Underground (album)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Weather Underground is the current working title for the fifth studio album from UK band Massive Attack. Artists currently believed to be contributing to the vocals for the album include Tunde Adebimpe, Hope Sandoval, Tom Waits, Dot Allison, Horace Andy, Mike Patton, Liz Fraser, Damon Albarn and Mos Def. [1] During a BBC Radio 1 interview on June 5 2008, Elbow, who had previously covered "Teardrop" from the Mezzanine album, revealed that they would also be working with Massive Attack, who had heard their cover version and liked it.

During an interview with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1, 19 December 2006, Robert Del Naja of the band stated that the album title is likely to change by the time of release.[citation needed]

The sound of the new album is described as "gothic soul". Band member Grant ‘Daddy G' Marshall said the band "could have enough material to release two albums in 12 months".[2]
