[edit] Yearly global weather articles
This is a part of a planned series of articles covering the most important weather events during a specific year. The articles are meant to provide an overview of the yearly fluctuations in climate as well as making available quickly browsable indices of past weather events.

- I like it! It should also link to national weather of the year sites. I like how we are starting to branch into our areas of expertise. CrazyC83 02:42, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Format
Should the article go by continent, by month, or both? All have their own advantages. Going by continent would keep this as the most important weather events in 2007, and thus not terribly difficult. Going by month would be easy for older years through the NCDC monthly reports, though would require more in depth information. Splitting by month and further by continent would be very useful and comprehensive, but might require a lot of work. Thoughts? Hurricanehink (talk) 03:23, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- I like how it is now, splitting by continents. I just like the format more than organizing it by years. It helps us keep a more realistic context. bob rulz 05:23, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

- I chose to organise the article by continents so that it shows the most significant weather events of the particular region instead of giving a chronology of the year. Under a specific continent, the events should be arranged by date for clarity. Oghmoir 16:20, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- I have become increasingly uncomfortable about the events not being sorted by date, so I recently added a table where they are sorted by month. Both is better! Oghmoir 20:37, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Listed by continent is fine, I think. My only concern with this article is expansion. I am sure that there have been more severe weather events this year other than the ones listed here. 69.121.244.128 16:57, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
