We'll Be Together (Sting song)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"We'll Be Together" is a song performed by Sting on his 1987 album Nothing Like the Sun. The song was also released as a single, and reached #7 and #41 on the U.S. and UK singles charts, respectively. Sting also recorded a version of the song with Annie Lennox for the soundtrack for Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (film).

Sting originally wrote the song for a beer commercial for Kirin Brewery Company. The original recording included Eric Clapton on guitar, while other takes feature Brian Loren instead. The original would surface later on Sting's 1994 greatest hits album.

The video for the song, directed by Mary Lambert, was based on the film Orpheus, and includes an appearance by Sting's wife Trudie Styler. Sting wears a homemade jumper in the video based on the Belgian cartoon Tintin and Snowy.

Near the end of the song, there is a snippet of "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free".
