[edit] Controversy section

Some of this information came from a Winnipeg magazine (the name I have forgotten) that was published in 1992. The article was about the WDIV/WJBK controversy. I distinctly remember something about drive-by shooting being introduced in by this time in that article, so if anyone has this article somewhere, could you make sure this is all correct? I am pretty sure this info is already correct, though...--PsychoJason 20:16, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

As important as the Winnipeg controversy was, is it really necessary to go that in depth with it? I'm considering shortening and clarifying some things (KARE replaced WDIV due to geographic relevance, not crime) for brevity purposes because any Canadian viewership outside of southwestern Ontario is purely out of curiosity. I agree, and besides, Winnipeg wasn't the only place that happened. Atlantic Canada went through the same motions when WVII and WABI/WAGM were replaced with WXYZ and WJBK in the early 90s. This would probably be better off in an article about cable television in Canada or something. Kirjtc2 00:57, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pre-emptions, yet again

It's a Wonderful Life is on NBC tonight. Guess who's pre-empting it?

[edit] Ireland and beyond

On May 2, 2007, Matt Lauer had mentioned that viewers had previously watched The Today Show in Ireland. RingtailedFoxTalkStalk 11:12, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Though of course, it might've been when The Today Show was on the old NBC Europe channel. -- azumanga 01:42, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:WDIV.JPG

Image:WDIV.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Programming

Should it be mentioned that WDIV-TV has gained the nasty habit lately of pre-emting network programming for infomercials? particularly Last Call with Carson Daly (i know it airs at 1:36 AM, but i thought it was part of the network schedule...). i have to work hard to drag in WNWO-TV's signal from toledo (which is slightly easier at that late time) if i want to watch Last Call...
