WCTN is a radio station broadcasting on 950 kHz in the medium-wave AM band from Potomac, Maryland. WCTN has broadcasted Korean language and Christian Music programming, but is now broadcasting Spanish variable music.
From about 1970 to 2003, WCTN broadcasted radio programming in English, WCTN, also broadcasted Korean Language programs. From 2003 to 2007, WCTN broadcasted Christian music. For some months, ago a group of Salvadoran began to chat on the possibility of having an alternative radio station for the area. Two of them, are workpeople of the mass media, with eager experience, and others, businessman of success in the metropolitan area. With deep desire of someone who feels the need to find the diversion that generates the radio, interesting news for the immense majority and discussions of the most important topics; we began this project which we called: MONUMENTAL950am. Now From June 1, 2007, these workpeople started a Spanish Language company. Guanaco's Radio Group, Inc., with the new name for the station of Monumental950am creating a different scheme of radio in The Washington Metropolitan area with Monumental950am [Con Lo Nuestro]Its callsign stand for "Spanish Variable." Playing Spanish contemporaneous hits. Our purpose: become part of each household, offering a quality product.
Our sales department will be covered by persons of recognized honesty and with the skills of showing the importance that has announcing your business in a way devoted especially to those who go shopping daily. Advertising campaigns from beginning to end.
Our air personalities are of a big experience and very well known in Washington, D.C. area, which guarantees an agreeable and lively programing broadcasting continuous Spanish music 24 hours weekdays. In addition, "Monumental950am" broadcasters use the frequency on weekends for Spanish talk shows and Hispanic community services.
