WBVC is a freeform high school radio station located in Pomfret, Connecticut. Directly affiliated with Pomfret School, the station is funded through a gift from Bill and Virginia Cargill, whose initials, BVC, form the stations call letters.
WBVC is located at 91.1 FM with an effective radiated power of 100 watts. The transmission tower for the station is located on a hill above Pomfret School, and, according to the FCC, it transmits a signal with a 17-mile radius, with the potential for 11,000 listeners.
WBVC broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with an automated playlist of music playing hourly, by theme, when live student or community produced programming is not airing.
Student and community produced programming are aired regularly during the Pomfret School calendar. Shows include Community Music & News and Trance 101 With Charles Conlin.
