WBSD
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WBSD is a 300 Watt radio station transmitting from the former Burlington (Wisconsin) High School (now Karcher Middle School) with a studio in the new Burlington High School building. It is owned by the Burlington School District from which its call sign is derived. It has recently celebrated its 32nd anniversary.
The station broadcasts a "Triple A" format and is on the air 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The station's tagline is "great rock, real variety, 89 BSD." WBSD also carries live play-by-play broadcasts of Burlington High School sporting events.
The high school has a Broadcasting 1 class that allows students to get FCC licensed and their first chance of being on the air, a Broadcasting 2 class giving students experience in recording and producing radio shows, and a Broadcast Seminar class that puts students in charge of day to day operation of WBSD.
