why did you request deletion? I'm puzzled, I dont want to just delete it if you've maybe made a mistake of some sort. . I'll look here for the reply. DGG (talk) 01:42, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Because I realise that the delete arguments of the AfD were very valid. You can keep the article if you like, though. weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 07:30, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

BCAD

Hi! We're looking to finish the BCAD drive within the next few days. People do sign up and find themselves, for a variety of excellent reasons, unable to complete their range as quickly as they intended. I see you've done about a quarter of your range. May I please allocate your range to another editor as it is important we wrap this drive up before the main one starts mid-April-ish. If I don't hear within 24 hours, I'll assume that you have no objections. All the best, --ROGER DAVIES talk 07:27, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Thank you very much for letting me know :) --ROGER DAVIES talk 21:39, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

My signature

See the /* NEW CUSTOM SIGNATURE METHOD */ section of user:brian0918/monobook.js. It adds a new signature button to the end of the buttons above the edit field. Just add that to user:wBOSITG/monobook.js. — BRIAN0918 • 2008-04-01 17:44Z

  • I think you also need to force refresh the monobook.js page after making that change. For Firefox, that just means holding down CTRL and pressing F5 while you're viewing your monobook.js page. — BRIAN0918 • 2008-04-01 17:57Z
  • It should put a new signature button at the end of your row of buttons (above the edit window). Make sure you're clicking on that button rather than the normal signature button. — BRIAN0918 • 2008-04-01 18:01Z
  • I fixed it for you. You had to surround it in <pre></pre> and comment out the pre lines. Now just force refresh that page. Also, the "Z" just denotes UTC. — BRIAN0918 • 2008-04-01 19:35Z

Your signature

Just saying that first i finally understand where your username came from - it is a variation on lyrics from a band called Bloc Party

Secondly, your signature seems to be messed up as evidenced on the main page talk page, or was that a joke? Simply south (talk) 13:10, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

:( Simply south (talk) 13:13, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Naaa, i was meaning the above in a jokey way. ;) Simply south (talk) 13:17, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Please revert whatever joke you're trying to pull with your signature. It's just leaving a mess all over the place whenever you issue warnings or make WP:AIV reports. Thanks. --  Netsnipe  ►  14:49, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Btw, on your new one, you have put "graden" instead of "garden" Simply south (talk) 16:47, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
But you could have buried them in Graden (a municipality in Austria). I wonder what they were exactly and why there... Simply south (talk) 16:59, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

PROD of Michael Paton

Sorry, but that's incorrect on both counts. The Scottish Second Division is the third division of Scottish football (behind the Premier League and First Division), and is definitely not fully professional (Queen's Park are well known for being amateur) - see this recent discussion on a player from the same division which noted that only 3 of the 10 clubs are professional. Cheers, пﮟოьεԻ 57 08:49, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

No, he needs to actually play for them (or a team in the SPL/First division) to meet the WP:BIO#Athletes criteria. The AfD I linked to above is for a Hibs reserve player who had only played in Division 2. If you don't mind, could you add {{db-author}} to the articles so they can be speedy deleted, rather than waiting five days for the prod to expire (during which time an IP invariably removes it and means we have the hassle of a full AfD...). Cheers, пﮟოьεԻ 57 08:54, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for that. As you probably noticed on my talk page, some people tend to get a bit defensive in these situations, so it's nice to come across someone rational :) пﮟოьεԻ 57 09:00, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
And thanks again! пﮟოьεԻ 57 10:58, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Torchwood-Series-One-Cover-UK.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Torchwood-Series-One-Cover-UK.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:23, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Aberdeen GA

It's absolutely deserved. I came across the first GA, and made some minor amendments then, but only just started reviewing GAs myself. The improvements made since that first listing are amazing and it's fully deserved. I seriously think it's not far off a push for FAC. Peanut4 (talk) 14:55, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Just a quick note, regarding the changing of the references for the Jack Webster book. You really ought to quote page numbers per {{cite book}}. Peanut4 (talk) 20:28, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
I wouldn't worry about bloating the reference block. Adding page numbers just helps anyone to find the information easier I suppose. Peanut4 (talk) 20:32, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Lol. No worries. You've also just pointed me in the direction I've also been changing elsewhere (and hesistantly I may add) but now realise I was right. Woohoo!! Peanut4 (talk) 20:37, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Great job with all the reverts. Just leave a few for me sometimes... J.delanoygabsadds 17:59, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the star. But you do beat me a lot with the reverts. I think it's because I have 5 Mb/s downstream but only like 384 Kb/s upstream, so I can see the vandalisms almost as they happen, but it takes a second for it to actually revert them. J.delanoygabsadds 18:07, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I know what you mean. Once, I saw a vandal that was actually vandalizing faster than I could revert with huggle, so I just opened his contribs in Firefox and clicked on all the rollback links, and after I clicked a few times, it said that it had "throttled" me as an anti-spam measure for making too many edits in a ridiculously short time. I wonder if that is why our automated tools slow down randomly. J.delanoygabsadds 18:12, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
That would be nice. This fall I'm going to college to study computer programming, so maybe I would be able write a little patch that would make it say that. Or maybe I could make it try to space out the edits, if you know what I mean, so that when you are browsing through suspected vandalisms, it is actually reverting previous ones slow enough so that you don't get throttled. Either way, hopefully we will be admins by then. I don't think admins can be throttled. J.delanoygabsadds 18:18, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Princess Janay

Hey there WBOSITG, I've commented on this MfD that you started, and I've moved the nominated page (which I believe was an honest n00b mistake) to a user subpage. Perhaps, (and forgive me if you tried this first), you should have visited Princess Janay's talkpage first? It seems she didn't know she had made an error. An MfD could have been avoided with a simple non admin page move, followed by a a speedy deletion tag for the redirect. For next time I suppose. Thanks, garden! Happy editing, Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 19:20, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

No problem. I've seen you around, and know you do great work. I'm positive there was no malice in your good faith nomination. Just giving you an FYI. Hopefully the MfD will be closed soon. Cheers! Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 19:25, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Redirect is long gone. Just deleted it. Thanks for your efforts, WBO! Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 19:30, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
And, by the way, this was very classy. Nice move! Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 19:34, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Arab

Why didn't you warn him when he cursed at and told me to shut up? Why the bias? Bayoumi (talk) 19:25, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Yes he did [1] and also said this [2] to me. I can't believe the bias here!!! Bayoumi (talk) 19:46, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't get this!! Why do people who don't know anything about Egypt or Egyptians should have a say about how they consider themselves. The whole "Arab Republic" thing is explained on the article of Egypt#Identity; did you read before you said that? anyway i wasn't arguing about the government of Egypt, a lot of Egyptians are very offended when people call them Arab just as they hate the fact the nasser called Egypt "Arab". This is complicated unless you understand the whole situation. Bayoumi (talk) 21:35, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

It's not an argument, all I did was remove a picture of an Egyptian nobel prize winner from the arabs page because he didn't consider himself Arab. Then I started get harassed for it. Bayoumi (talk) 21:43, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Bayoumi

I already forgot about him. If you havent noticed, i removed Mahfouz. You should try to understand me. I worked hours and suddenly he "nominates the image for speddy deletion" without even talking about it on the talk page! Twice i reverted him saying wait!!! Give me a minute to change and go to the talk page. And he ignored. That realy annoyed. Look at the Arab talk page. We, the participants, had a civil argument. Nothing went off without a compromise. I created an image when i'm against 3 figures to appear their. Why? A concensus decided. He didnt search for a concensus but for manipulation. Look at the image page. Creating the image, filling the page with detales about every license of every image, it's hard work. He should learn to behave. Some administrator is simply going to block him. If i would complaine on the notice board, he would be blocked. But i havent. Someone will. Shpakovich (talk) 20:00, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

I agree with you, and i already forgot about him. I dont know what's his problem, i did what he wanted in the image.
He havent nomonated the image for deletion, but for speedy deletion. But you're right, left behind! Shpakovich (talk) 20:12, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Aberdeen F.C. seasons

Can you tell me why you overwrote my wikitable with one which contained erroneous data, I got all of my information from the club's own website at the time, before the website changed to it's current format. The data which is incorrect is in the Scottish Cup & League Cup columns. The best way to get the wikitable back to having correct data contained in it may require it to be reverted back to the last edit before you added your version. The final version of the old one is dated the [8th of March 2008]. If you need any information from me please get in touch using my Usertalk page, thanks, Dreamweaverjack (talk) 13:48, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

I grateful for the fact that you expanded the wikitable in this article to show the number of Wins, Draws & Defeats that the club had in each season, but surely you could have referred fully to the previous wikitable before you replaced it with your own one, this would have stopped the problem of having to go back and compare the two versions to sort out any discrepencies between them. Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Wisdom89 3

Hey there, was wondering if you had spoken with either Wisdom or Pedro before you added your co-nomination to Wisdom's RfA? The reason I am asking is because it was decided prior to the RfA that Pedro, myself, and Rudget would be the nominators but that we thought that should be all. Often it is looked down upon to have more than three nominations and think it would be a good idea to ask one of those two users before you add it. Remember you can always add your support to his RfA! Cheers, Tiptoety talk 14:58, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey no worries. I actually would not remove it until you talk with Wisdom, he may be perfectly fine with it. I was more or less asking you to ask him. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 15:03, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Ruari Burgham

I'm wondering how that page isn't vandalism when it's well documented who wrote the scripts to those two films and neither one of them was written by someone named Ruari Burgham? Rnb (talk) 21:38, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

It seems to fit the definition of vandalism pretty clearly: Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. It's the addition of material to deliberately compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. If that's not vandalism, I'm not sure anything would rate as vandalism. Rnb (talk) 21:41, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
No problems. Thanks for afd'ing it, anyway. I screenwrite a little, so I was immediately familiar with the actual writers of those films and knew what was going on. Thanks again. Rnb (talk) 22:01, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

RfA thanks

Thanks for supporting my recent request for adminship which was successful with 89 supports, 0 opposes, and 2 neutrals. Unfortunately all I can offer is this lame text thanks rather than some fancy-smancy thank-you spam template thingy. I was very pleased to receive such strong support and to hear so many nice comments from editors whom I respect. I’ll do my best with the tools, and if you ever see me going astray don’t hesitate to drop a note on my talk page. Thanks again for your support!--Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 03:38, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

I see from your contribs that you're active now...Would you like to chat on IRC? Malinaccier (talk) 19:52, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Aberdeen F.C. FAC

It took me a while to get back to you, but better late than never. After another look, I decided to support the nomination. There is one sentence I didn't care for, and noted it in my comment there. Despite that, I think the article is ready to be featured. Giants2008 (talk) 20:43, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Award Center Newsletter

Issue 2 • April 28, 2008

New sponsored challenges

New challenges include:

News
  • The newsletter has been redesigned. Thank you to WBOSITG, MFC, and IMatthew for your design contributions. This shiny new newsletter is a result of their combined efforts.
  • Thank you to Enigmaman for participating in the previous Award Center Collaboration of the Fortnight. Please note that if you wish to be given credit for work completed, you must sign up for the collaboration first. This week's collaboration is Luc Besson.
  • Apologies for the late newsletter. The editor has been swamped lately due to school and vacation. If in the future a fortnightly delivery schedule cannot be kept, this newsletter will be delivered monthly.
  • A lively discussion about the future of the Award Center is currently being being hosted on the Award Center talk page. Input is always welcome.

Huggle Reverts

WBOSITG: is there a problem here? I reverted one of this IPs good faith edits by accident, and noticed you did too – a huggle issue, or a random coincidence? Alex.Muller 21:25, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the revert

Thanks for helping take care of the vandalism on the Karaoke Revolution songlist page from earlier this month! 70.236.10.83 (talk) 15:44, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Lady Aleena's RfA

WBOSITG...Thank you for supporting my nomination for adminship. Through it I have become aware of a great many people who can help me in my future editing endeavors. Even though I was not promoted, your support shows that I still have something to contribute to Wikipedia, even if it is minor edits to fix spelling and grammar to working in WikiProjects to help others make great articles. If you wish to further discuss the nomination, please use its talk page. Stop by my talk page anytime, even if it is just to say hello. Have a wonderful day! - LA @ 04:14, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
