Ways to Live Forever

Ways to Live Forever is a book by children's author Sally Nicholls which won the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize in 2008.

The book follows the adventures of an eleven year-old terminally ill child named Sam McQueen as he collects his experiences before dying[1].

Ways to Live Forever was the debut novel by Sally Nicholls, written whilst she was 23 years old[2].

Nicholls accepted the £5,000 Waterstone's Children's Book Prize from Michael Rosen, the 2007-09 Children's Laureate, at a ceremony on 13 February 2008.[3]

At launch, Ways to Live Forever was translated into Dutch and published using a different title[4]. The dutch title Als je dit leest, ben ik dood (English: When you read this, I'll be dead) is adapted from one of the book's opening lines.
