Wayne Towne Center
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Wayne Towne Center is a regional shopping mall located in Wayne, New Jersey, right next to Willowbrook Mall. Its anchor stores are Fortunoff and JCPenney. Secondary stores include Loehmann's, Old Navy and a T.G.I. Friday's restaurant. The mall has a gross leasable area of 653,000 ft²[1].
The mall was known as the West Belt Mall until the early 1990s.
Existing in the shadow of the Willowbrook Mall, Wayne Town Center has had difficulty dating back to 1993, when the Neiman Marcus Last Call outlet headed for Pennsylvania in 1993.[2] The mall is currently undergoing an extensive redesign and redevelopment project to better position itself against other malls in the area.[3]
In January 2008, the Borders Books and Music, which replaced Last Call, was one of three North Jersey locations closed by the chain.[4]
