Wayne McGregor

Wayne McGregor (born 12 March 1970, Stockport, Cheshire, England) is a British choreographer, dancer and director.
McGregor started dancing aged 15. He went on to study dance at Bretton Hall College and the José Limon School in New York. He founded the Random Dance company in London in 1992. Works for his own company include Sulphur 16 (1998), Aeon (2000), Nemesis (2002), Polar Sequences (2003), and AtaXia (2004). Works for other companies include Symbiont(s) (for the Royal Ballet, 2000), Qualia (Royal Ballet, 2003), 2Human (for English National Ballet, 2003), and PreSentient (for the Rambert Dance Company, 2002). 'Amu' (2005) was made for Random Dance in collaboration with composer John Tavener. 'Chroma' (2006), his work for the Royal Ballet, won Olivier and Critics' Circle awards.
McGregor is currently resident choreographer at the Royal Ballet, Covent Garden. His company Wayne McGregor | Random Dance is based at Sadler's Wells Theatre, London.
