Wayde Mills (born August 29, 1987) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.

[edit] Overview

Mills played junior football with the Coolangatta-Tweed Heads Blues before playing senior football with the Southport Sharks.

He was recruited as the number 25 draft pick in the 2005 AFL Draft from Southport. He made his debut for the Brisbane Lions in Round 2, 2006 against Essendon.

Mills is expected to be developed as the Lions' Centre Half-Back to fill the void created by the retirement of Justin Leppitsch.

Currently this AFL season 2007, Wayde Mills has been playing at Half Forward flank role, but interestingly he is playing as a defensive forward to pressure opponents defence to force them to make mistakes.

His best performance so this season is 2 goals against Kangaroos at 4th August, 2007.

Wayde Mills is expectantly to play as a Centre Half Back in 2008 season.

Rolling Stone magazine ranked Wayde Mills as the greatest name of all time.
