[edit] Image

There is considerable talk of this image. It is a poor representation and I would not consider this image worthy of being used. It is blurry and completly out of focus. Although it is a fair use image I propose we upload a clear and more defined picture of Wayne Static as to have a better idea of what he looks like. I personally don't have an ego and need to have my image used. I am just saying we need a better one. So I propose we find and use a better image. --StereoDevil —Preceding comment was added at 20:36, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

I agree that we should change this, It is not a good representation and a much better quality photo would be ideal. --Macacid —Preceding comment was added at 21:37, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
This image is a free use image. That means it's allowed to be used anywhere. If you have a better image, that's fine. But it has to be a free one and not copyvio. The Prince 23:16, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I see it is free use. I am currently looking for free use images that are very good. Will post here when we find some. --StereoDevil —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.185.156.220 (talk) 18:52, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] That article fails to...

This article does not seem fleshy or meaningful enough to keep. --Woohookitty 02:58, 18 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Also fails to mention his involved in 'Queen of the Dammed' movie as both an actor and his contribution to the soundtrack

Also fails to mention anything about his hair style: arguably his most notable attribute

I changed the line "he opposes the imprisonment of an entire species". It doesn't make sense. If it is a direct quote, could someone please attribute it? --Vessels42 18:25, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Shelby

Correcting disamibuation leads me to ask: which "shelby" is this person from? - brenneman{L} 04:50, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

He's from Shelby, Michigan, on the West side of the state: http://www.google.com/maps?q=Shelby,+MI&sa=X&oi=map&ct=title 66.188.6.131 19:19, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Birthdate

I see a lot of different dates on the 'web, from 1970, 1975, and 1965. They all share the same November 4th date in smilarity, so if possible, someone clarify this. --Mynabull 02:20, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Wayne Wells was born in 1965, but the character, Wayne Static, is younger. 66.188.6.131 01:43, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

He was born in 1965. He doesn't play any character, he uses an ALIAS for the band. VinTheMetalhed 00:17, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

He was born in 1965, it's posted on the Static-X offical message board. Abbey41 21:04, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

You need a source for this. The Prince of Darkness 21:29, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Once again, he was born in 1965 he's stated this numerous times. http://static-x.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6676083791/m/6911078842 Abbey41 16:03, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

A forum is not a reliable source, I'm afraid. The Prince of Darkness 17:00, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

http://imdb.com/name/nm1413618/ if that doesn't give you enough proof, I will gladly ask Wayne to post for himself on his message board. Abbey41 19:10, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

IMDb is also not reliable, sorry. The Prince of Darkness 19:20, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Mr Static commented himself on his own message board. http://static-x.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6676083791/m/6911078842/p/2 Since nothing is verifiable, goodluck to you Prince. This isn't worth the fight or the trouble. Abbey41 17:52, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't believe this is Wayne Static, but I'll make a compromise with you: Since the sources on his birthyear differ, I added "born on November 4, 1965 or 1975" instead of either "1965" or "1975". The Prince of Darkness 21:33, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

IMDB has him listed as born in 1965. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1413618/ The whole argument about whether or not it's the real Wayne is moot. There is at least one reference to verify this. Please point us to a reference that IMDB is not reliable. I say this because if one is going to nazimod then they need their own references also.StereoDevil —Preceding comment was added at 22:28, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

I went and saw the band play on October 23rd in Dallas. While the opening act was on I went to the restaurant in the venue and struck up a conversation with Koichi. We sat together while I ate my burger and he was waiting for his takeout order. I asked him how old he was (because we looked around the same age) and he said he was 39. I then talked about the Wayne birthyear argument on the net and he said "Wayne is 42." So I guess that would make it 1965. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.162.96.117 (talk) 04:22, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

There is no reference source available that lists his birth year other than IMDB and the Static-X board. The board cannot be used and it is debatable on IMDB. I have contacted IMDB and awaiting an answer on how they came up with the birth year of 1965. There is no "compromising". The information must be factual and be referenced. There is neither for his name or his birthdate so I removed them. I am trying to clean this article up and bring it into standards. I think the Guitar and Amplifiers section should be merged into "Equipment". I have found a much more detailed list of his current equipment. Also he is an atheist and I have a reference to that and will add it when I have one for his being a vegetarian. StereoDevil —Preceding comment was added at 14:15, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Removed this image because it does not comply with fair use policy. StereoDevil —Preceding comment was added at 11:21, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

They are free use images, so please stop removing them. The Prince 14:04, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
I created a section to discuss the image above. StereoDevil —Preceding comment was added at 21:27, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

I received a reply from IMDB helpdesk and they do verify the birthdates and do independent verification if necessary. I know for fact that 1965 is correct. I am attempting to find reference. I will attempt to clarify if IMDB can be used. StereoDevil

IMDb is not a reliable source. For instance they claim that The Undertaker is born in 1962, when he's actually born in 1965. The Prince 19:09, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

That is fine but I will attempt to determine this from a third party source.StereoDevil

The only thing I could see that would give any hint is a Richard Wells in Muskegon, Michigan, but that doesn't lead anywhere. Now if it stated that he was born to certain parents, that would help. Zchris87v 05:50, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Some user keeps adding back the real name and birthdate. The birthdate is wrong anyways. If he would read this he would obviously see the history behind this whole name / birthdate fiasco. I invite anyone that can find an acceptable reference to add the name and correct birthdate which is not 1975. It is 1965. Everyone knows it and even Wayne himself has said it. The problem is that it is not valid reference. Please do not change it unless you have a reference. I will revert it. StereoDevil (talk) 02:46, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

The name and birthday is is now resolved and seems to be stabilized. Good to see it has stayed up. My earlier comment was due to the fact that there was a war going on and the only way to settle it was to stick to the guidelines. StereoDevil (talk) 17:58, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV

Just modded a little bit of opinion in the article, the "fine upstanding" bit. 71.195.27.116 00:01, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Guitars

Where'd the info go? Seeing as he is a rythm guitarist it would be pretty nice to have his friggin past and present guitars up there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.3.5.132 (talk) 20:15, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

This has been added StereoDevil 01:37, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wayne hates one band that he toured with

You know how everytime a band changes their website once they've released a new album, well durning Shadow Zone on Wayne's profile he stated that he hates one band that they toured with but he did not disclose. Does anybody know?

If you really want the most updated info on Wayn's personal opinions you should go to the Static-X forum off their website. That is a more appropriate place to ask this question. StereoDevil 15:17, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Ah the answer would probably take forever then. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.66.185 (talk) 16:13, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Actually he does answer questions on the forum and is often posting on there. If only I could use that info in wikipedia as a reference I would have a super complete bio but alas this is not possible. So just go the Questions for the band section and he might answer. StereoDevil 01:37, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vegetarian?

Is Wayne really a vegetarian, because I checked the source and it did confirm that he is an atheist, but I saw nothing about being a vegetarian. Could somebody confirm this for me?

It is well known that Wayne is a vegetarian. I will add a reference.StereoDevil (talk) 12:55, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Added referenceStereoDevil (talk) 13:01, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

Someone vandalized the page, and the next person failed to revert it. I can't seem to properly revert the page now, which is odd. Can anyone else try to fix it? 71.162.43.22 (talk) 02:47, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Relationships

Is Wikipedia really the place to keep tabs on something as constantly changing as a dating life? That stuff seems rather irrelevant to me, and I believe it should be removed from the article. 72.72.211.189 (talk) 22:27, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

I don't see a problem with it. Would it matter if he were married to her? It is a part of the Biography of his life. StereoDevil (talk) 19:37, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
A marriange is, in most cases, far more long term than a dating life, and tend to have a longer impact. I fail to see the need to update the page everytime he starts dating a new person, but I could see the use in including people he's married. 72.72.211.189 (talk) 02:44, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
If his girlfriend was not notable I would agree but she is. She is a known adult movie actress. StereoDevil (talk) 10:45, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] lol

can we add his hairstyle under his equipment? that shit could probably be used as a tuner like you know....one of these srsly though - i believe something as outlandish as that deserves a mention somewhere 75.5.67.145 (talk) 04:58, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree. It already does get a mention - for some reason it appears in a section titled "Career". Viz:
Wayne's hair is his most notable feature, which used to be held up, as mentioned in the Wisconsin Death Trip liner notes, by White Rain hair spray. Today, Wayne uses Suave Rave 4X Mega hair spray and the process takes about 20 minutes to complete.
(I gotta admit that I really do like the idea of it appearing in the "Equipment" section!) Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 06:25, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't go in the personal section because he does not wear it down in his personal life. It is part of his career image. Although it is amusing to think of it as a tuning fork or other tuning device it is not considered equipment. StereoDevil (talk) 18:12, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Collaborations

"2002 - Wayne appears in The X-Ecutioners music video "It's Going Down", along with Mike Shinoda and Mr. Hahn of Linkin Park. (However, he had no involvement with the song itself.)"
This should be removed from Collaborations. An appearence in a music video is not a collaboration. They didn't collaborate on anything! Wayne just appeared in the music video. 207.69.249.233 (talk) 20:55, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Maybe we could just change the title of that section to Collaborations / Appearances? Any suggestions? StereoDevil (talk) 14:15, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't have a problem with that, but I would still list it after (or before) with the other collaborations. It just breaks the flow. If someone is looking for all the tracks that Wayne Static appeared in to download them, the X-Ecutioners fact might throw them off. 209.86.72.169 (talk) 23:43, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

OK, I was a "bit grumpy" when I reverted your edit - sorry for my "tone-of-voice" - but your edit was a bit sloppy.
I disagree that An appearence in a music video is not a collaboration. They didn't collaborate on anything! - if there was no collaboration of any sort, then Wayne wouldn't have appeared in the video.
However, I do agree that appearance in a video is a different class of collaboration from what you call "collaboration". My problem is, what do you call it? Until I can think of a better title, "Appearances" seems as good as any.
Hence my latest edit. Feel free to change it if you disagree, but please, explain why you are changing it. Pdfpdf (talk) 10:03, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sex addict?
