The dedication says
- Powstanie Warszawskie 1944; żołnierzom Armii Krajowej zgrupowania „Chrobry II", Którzy w godzine „W" opanowali zachodnią część śródmieścia - Północ, blokowali Al. Jerozolimskie, Ulicę Żelazną, Towarową, Grzybowską, Wielką, i przez 63 dni odpierali ataki Wojsk Hitlerowskich, w tunelu linii średnicowej zniszczyli tory kolejowe przerwając połączenie sił wroga z frontem. W hołdzie i pamięci 600 poległych w walkach pomnik ten wznieśli żołnierze zgrupowania „Chrobry II" 1991 (Polish)
- Warsaw Uprising 1944; to the soldiers of the Home Army "Chrobry II" group, who in the "W" hour captured the western part of the northern city centre, blocked Jerozolimskie Avenue, Żelazna, Towarowa, Grzybowska and Wielka streets and for 63 days held off the attacks of the German army and destroyed rail lines in the tunnel cutting off the enemies forces from the front. In tribute and memory of the 600 lost in the fight, the soldiers of the "Chrobry II" group erected this monument in 1991 (My translation)
The monument dates from 1991 at which point, due to the fall of communism it was possible to have monuments to those killed in the Warsaw Uprising which told the truth about the fight of the units of the Home Army (Armia Krajowa) against the German army.
