re: personal attacks

I was not the first one to make a personal attack, and I have made no personal attacks on the page itself; the talk page is a different story. I was called an a**hole WAY before I ever retaliated. I do not appreciate your one-sided comments on my userpage, and I hope that you'll do the fair thing by telling Jyre and SiahZendik not to attack me, either. Not being the first does not matter. The fact is that you did it. Also, I did not touch your userpage. I placed a template on your talk page. I did warm Jyre, thought I did not get SiahZendik You may warn him by placing the {{subst:uw-npa3} template on his talk page. O'Connell Center

The edits were made because the prior editor added vandalism to the infobox (stating that the stadium seats 12,000 but only 30-35 people ever showed up for an event, a clear instance of vandalism). 76.187.62.115 02:50, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Mets 2007 Game Log

Wavemaster, I don't know why you thought my edit to the Mets 2007 Season Game Log was vandalism. I simply added the details of the Mets Opening Night win to the log. What did you see wrong with it? Are you a bot or something? Please look at that again and don't let this happen again. I did nothing wrong. (Unsigned - comment made by 69.201.134.220. Also, comment was left on my userpage. Regarding your post to User_talk:64.230.97.158

Please keep your opinions regarding other users' vandalism to yourself, rather than encouraging disruptive behavior. If you read the Wikipedia policy on user space edits you would see that deletion of comments for any reason is permitted on one's own user talk page. Instead you seem to be cheering on this vandal for reverting a version of my userpage which had unblock templates on it, causing an admin to yell at me for posting an unblock template when I was not blocked (it was her responsibility to look at the history but still). I am sorry about any damage the revision might have caused. I do alot of time reverting vandalism and I saw a IP adress reverting vandalism (or at least that's what it looked like). It appeared that he had not warned the vandal, so I used the uw-warn template to tell him to warn vandals when he reverts their edits. If it was not vandalism, then that was my mistake and I am very sorry for any inconvenionce. And, BTW, the "glass house" was archived to an older archive. Wavemaster⁴⁴⁷_{(Need help? Regarding your post to Butwhatdoiknow

Thank you, I think, for posting two messages to my discussion page. I gather the postings were intended to instructive but they assume more knowledge than I have. I see you have one of the postings duplicated here. So I assume you are sending it out often. If so then you might want to consider revising it to make it clearer to folks who are newbies and are not operating with the same level of sophistication that you have with Wikipedia. I have noticed that some newcomers don't know the etiquette of the talk pages, and I feel that that template is very informative. It is a template header and is meant to go on the top, though. I fixed it on your talk page so the formatting is correct again - if you don't want it, you may delete it by removing the top three lines of your talk page. It is not a comment, but rather a header for your talk page to inform anybody who comes, and the user it is sent to. If you need any help regarding the template, feel free to ask. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I wasn't suggesting that you not provide this information, only that you might want to dumb it down a bit. For example, "Automatically sign your comments using ~~~~" could become "It is considered good etiquette to sign your comments. You can do this automatically by typing four tildes (~~~~)." Also, when you put this information on the top of another user's page you can start a conversation at the bottom saying something like "Hi, I have just added some text to the top of this page to help new users learn how to better communicate with you. If you don't want it, you may delete it by removing the top three lines of this page." Butwhatdoiknow 00:05, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Copy editing request

Wavemaster447,

I recently requested a copy edit from the League of Copy Editors and noticed that your name is included on the list of participants. At this writing, Jimmy McAleer, a B-class biography of an old-time American baseball figure, is in the peer review process. So far, all reviewers have suggested that the article is ready to send to the GAC. A couple of them recommended that I send it straight to the FAC. Before considering the latter, I would like to ensure that the article is as clean as possible. I'd greatly appreciate any time you're able to devote to it. I have been extremely busy as of late, as you might have noticed by my lack of response. Also, I have tried to devote more of my time towards Counter-Vandalism. Also, my lack of a functuning copy of MS word have inhibited my copyediting ability. You may wish to seek somebody else on the copyediting list. I might be able to edit it for you this weekend, though. Please let me know. P.S. By the way, I committed my own faux pas last month when I prematurely closed my request for a copy edit from the League of Copy Editors. (I was concerned about contributing to the extensive backlog.) League of Copyeditors roll call

Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there. The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage.
