[edit] Scheduling
Wausau West uses the non-traditional Flexible Modular Scheduling. With this schedule, the day is broken down into 21 separate 20 minute modules, or "mods". This type of schedule allows the school to be more flexible. In addition, each student's schedule can be assigned with little or no modifications. A student may also have a variety of teachers teaching the same subject to him/her in one week. This allows for the student to acquire different viewpoints on the material that is being taught. A problem with this type of scheduling, students' classes may overlap, forcing the student to leave one class early in order to get to another class. At this time, Wausau West is one of only a handful of schools across the U.S. that utilize this concept.
