Waterways, located in Melbourne's southern suburbs, was originally a housing development, and is now an official suburb just east of Mordialloc. Construction had started on Waterways Estate in May 2000 and was due to end in the next five years.
Waterways got its name from the waterways due to the number of manmade wetlands and giant lakes in the middle of the estate.
