Waterfall Valley Hut located in the Cradle Mountain National Park, Tasmania, Australia is the first of six overnight huts located along the Overland Track. It sleeps up to 32 people (up to eight per platform) in a single room, which also houses tables and bench seats for cooking and eating. It is heated by a small gas heater.

Waterfall Valley Hut has similar facilities to most of the other huts on the Overland Track. These include:

  • Bunks (No Mattresses)
  • Table & Bench seats.
  • Composting toilet
  • Rainwater tank
  • Tent Platforms
  • Group Campsite (Tent platforms)
  • Helipad (Emergency and maintainence use only)
  • Gas Heater & clothes drying rack

As with all the main track huts, Waterfall Valley Hut also offers an ajoinging camping ground, located approximately 50 metres due east of the hut. Independant walkers are allocated an area of grassland, whilst guided groups are allocated elevated wooden platforms 100 metres north-west ofthe hut. During periods of warm dry weather, many walkers opt to pitch a tent on the grassland area to enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding valley and Barn Bluff.
