Water privatization in Ecuador
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Water privatization in Ecuador has been limited to a single concession agreement in one city, while the bulk of the water and sanitation sector in Ecuador remains in public hands.
In Guayaquil, the service was transferred to the private company Interagua under a concession in 2001. At the same time, the former municipal utility ECAPAG became the regulatory agency for the new private utility.[1]
