Water Stories is an album by German cross-cultural new age band Cusco. It was released in 1990 as their third album for the Higher Octave music label.
The album is dedicated to major water bodies of the world, lakes, seas and hills. The mesmerizing music with a touch of traditional sounds of its locations made it an extremely popular release. Not only this, but the album can be seen as an early Greatest Hits collection of sorts as it contains tracks from throughout the early career of the band (most come from the albums Cusco II, Virgin Islands, and Ring der Delphine), each remastered for a smoother polish than that of the originals, and some tracks editd down for time. This album contrasts slightly in style from the previous Higher Octave releases Apurimac and Mystic Island, though it is actually a more accurate representation of Cusco's early music as a whole, and is quite consistent throughout. This album does have a relation to the Apurimac album, however, as the Chorus is actually a version of Michael Holm's vocal choruses from Flying Condor off that album, just slowed slightly and with some other minor changes.
