Watanabe Hajime (?-?) was a retainer beneath the clan of Mori throughout the latter Sengoku Period of Feudal Japan. Prior to Hajime's notable service to the Mori, it has been recorded that his father had at one time attested the authority of Mori Motonari, which subsequently acted as a pretense to his murder. With his father dead, Hajime nonetheless supported Motonari with great diversity by means of skill, even to the point at which he would save the respective life of his lord near the Omori silver mines initially during the Mori's retreat from Gassan-Toda castle in 1540. He was generously rewarded and gained much prestige in consequence to this noble feat. Hajime then followed with service at the Battle of Miyajima of 1555 and Moji in 1561.
