[edit] We use consensus, not voting

Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your comments. Please note that on Wikipedia, consensus is determined by discussion, not voting, and it is the quality of arguments that counts, not the number of people supporting a position. Consider reading about the deletion policy for a brief overview for the deletion process, and how we decide what to keep and what to delete. We hope you decide to stay and contribute even more. Thank you! ExtraDry 07:41, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Newington College

It goes without saying that admins are carefully watching edits related to this set of articles. There has been a disturbing amount of edit warring, quarrelling and assuming bad faith going on in edit summaries and on talk pages, as well as questionable additions to and removals from the articles in question. While the checkuser finding has come back fairly inconclusive, the behaviour of all parties is under scrutiny and breaches of policy will not be tolerated. If this warning is not heeded, blocks may well be the next stage. Orderinchaos 23:30, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

You're free to manage the content of your own talk page. Per WP:TALK#User_talk_pages: "Policy does not prohibit users from removing comments from their own talk pages, though archiving is preferred." Orderinchaos 00:54, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
He left my actual addition intact - to be honest I was being bold by reverting the now 2-month-old talk page message. If you don't feel it should be there, remove it. He would be unwise to revert a change to your talk page by yourself (whereas he could argue that as I removed it from your page, he was doing you a service by restoring it). If he does revert you on your own talk page, then certainly let me know then. Orderinchaos 02:39, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Please be more careful when editing Talk pages. Your recent edit removed two comments from other editors. --ElKevbo (talk) 15:10, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bob Baxt

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Bob Baxt, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.freehills.com.au/people/people_4740.asp. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 02:54, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Peter Charley

A tag has been placed on Peter Charley requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mbisanz (talk) 19:28, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Tom Perrin

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Tom Perrin, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Tom Perrin seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Tom Perrin, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
