Talk:Watford West railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Strangely, although it is disused, Watford West is still being showed to be used by 52 people a year! Simply south 19:49, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- I suspect this means one can buy a ticket to Watford West if one is mad enough, and about once a week a ticket gets issued to there instead of Watford Junction/High Street by mistake/perversity. 82.36.26.229 23:19, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

- It's because it's never officially been closed so they still have to publish fares etc to it. You can even still check live departure boards for it, although as there's been no track for 11 years, activity is pretty limited! Obukit 12:25, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

- Apparently, it's people who are buying their tickets from ticket machines rather than booking office windows. The machines still have the button/code for Watford West as an option. The discussion I heard (at uk.railways) said they just call the passengers a taxi when it happens Graldensblud 01:02, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

- People who collect railway tickets (such as me!) may be responsible for some of these. It's always fun to add an interestingly anomalous ticket to your collection! It's quite common for closed or otherwise inaccessible stations to be "left over" on self-service ticket issuing systems. Sadly I have no Watford Wests in my collection...
