[edit] Merge Family Anatidae with Order Anseriformes?
Anatidae is a family IN order anseriformes
[edit] Proposed Merger
As discussed at Talk:Anseriformes, Waterfowl is the common name for Anatidae. Currently "waterbirds" redirects to Anatidae, but the term "waterbirds" is actually much broader in normal usage, and should be broken out rather than redirect there. However, Waterfowl is normally generally synonymous with the Order Anatidae, so the two articles should merge to the common term. I will remove references to "waterbirds" in the article. Due to the the incorrect redirect for "waterbirds" double-redirects will probably be many, but we have to deal with that if we're going to make things right.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 01:57, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

That's fine. --Doug.(talk • contribs) 01:25, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
