moved this from article to talk Dincher 01:43, 14 May 2007 (UTC) The comment about the statue of George Washington is in error. He was never in the British military because his father threatened to disinherit him if he joined. He subsequently joined the Militia of Virginia and was dispatched to Waterford, PA by the Governor who wanted to expel the French military from their fort there. The uniform on the statue is that of the Virginia Militia.
Waterford is home to the historical Fort Leboeuf. It is part of the George Washington trail. George delivered a message after traveling from todays Pittsburgh. Also home to the historical Eagle Hotel
