Boy, you don't want this tree near your house. The number of acorns produced and the mess they create is huge. Tiny acorns, but thousands and thousands of them from one tree...so thickly carpeting the ground that they kill the grass.

[edit] Map of habitat incorrect

I have personally seen water oaks in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, but the map shows that they do not grow there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oneunnamed (talk • contribs) 15:05, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
