Wassy

Wassy or Wassy-sur-Blaise is a commune of the Haute-Marne département, in France. Population (1999): 3,294.

On March 1, 1562, a faction of the Catholic Francis, Duke of Guise attacked a Huguenot service in Wassy, marking the start of the First War of Religion in France.
