[edit] Route description

Originating at Interstate 90 just east of the Vantage Bridge, across the Columbia River from Ginkgo/Wanapum State Park, State Route 26 extends in an east/southeast direction through Royal City to Othello, where it crosses SR 24 and SR 17. From Othello, SR 26 travels almost directly due east, along the north side of Hatton to meet U.S. Route 395.

In the rural area east of US 395, and between Lind and Kahlotus, State Route 26 forms a four-way intersection with State Route 21. Six miles later, SR 26 once again begins curving southward, crossing State Route 261 in the town of Washtucna. About three miles east of Washtucna, SR 26 reaches its southernmost point, then regains latitude en route to Lacrosse Airport.

East of Lacrosse, State Route 26 forms the northern terminus of State Route 127, then continues onward to Colfax, where it meets U.S. Route 195.
