The Washington State Democratic Party works to elect Democrats to office in Washington. The official name of the party according to its charter is the Democratic Party of the State of Washington. It is also commonly referred to as the Washington State Democrats (on the Party's web site, for example) or the Washington Democratic Party (on the United States Democratic Party's web site, for example).

[edit] County party organizations
Each of Washington's 39 counties has a local party organization, which operates within that county and sends two delegates to the State Central Committee.
[edit] Legislative district organizations
Each of Washington's 49 Legislative Districts also has a local party organization, which operates within that LD and sends delegates to the State Central Committee. Each District is defined by the State Redistricting Commission and elects one Senator and two Representatives to the State Legislature. Each district also sends 2 representatives to the state central committee.
