[edit] Tacoma/McChord freeway from the dome area?

User:24.18.102.54 cites a 1968 Washington State Highway map for the source of the statement, "This freeway was probably planned to continue south, intersecting with SR-512 near Puyallup," referring to the freeway-like interchange of SR-7 on 38th Street. I've got a 1966 Texaco "Street Map of Tacoma" (also titled "Tacoma Street and Vicinity Maps"), and it's showing the proposed interchange, but nothing more than existing railroad tracks from the interchange on south. It also shows that the freeway part of SR-512 ends at Pacific Avenue (SR-7), but that it's proposed to be built out as far as Canyon Road. At the time, SR-512 ran along 112th Street, past Canyon, off the edge of the map.

I'm really curious to see what the 1968 map -- two years newer than mine -- shows. Why would a freeway from the dome to Puyallup even be considered to be a McChord freeway? Travisl 23:18, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Hearing no comments, I'm removing it. Travisl 15:49, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
