Warsaw Marathon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Warsaw Marathon is an annual marathon race, which takes place in the heart of Poland's capital, Warsaw. It is held since September 30, 1979. In the first edition the length of the parcours was just 41.6 km, and not the normal, classic distance of 42 km and 195 metres.

Although the main attraction is the marathon, an ekiden marathon is also organised the day before the race. The event usually takes place in September and is sponsored by Flora. Entry fee in 2006 was €30 if paid well in advance.
