[edit] Centre History

Warringah Mall first opened in 1963 and included 53 stores. Ten years later, the centre saw the opening of the Myer store, along with 50 more specialty stores, followed by the opening of the Hoyt's Cinema Complex soon after. In the early 1980's, a Target store was opened along with 20 specialty stores. Another expansion to the centre underwent construction in the late 1990's and was officially opened in 1998, with approximately 90 stores, making this the largest expansion ever to open in Warringah Mall. The following year saw the opening of a new food court and another 60 specialty stores, followed by the opening of Dick Smith Electronics Powerhouse in 2000. Warringah Mall is now the third largest shopping centre by floorspace in New South Wales behind Westfield Parramatta and Westfield Bondi Junction. [1]
