[edit] History

Warriewood takes its name from the Warriewood Estate that was subdivided in 1906 by Henry F. Halloran, who had purchased it from the McPherson family. [1]

[edit] Landmarks

Warriewood features a medium sized shopping mall and a cinema complex, a mini put-put golf and a swimming beach. Warriewood is also the location of a Catholic high school (Mater Maria).

[edit] Housing

Warriewood features houses with oceans views, and old farms in the valley. In recent years, almost all the market gardens or farms have been replaced by housing estates, such as Sheerwater, to the dismay of many locals who appreciated the rural feel of the western parts of the suburb.[citation needed] There are a number of townhouses in the area as well. It has been stated by local geologists that some newly developed houses/townhouses in the valley are slowly sinking due to them being built on existing swampland.[citation needed]
