Warmoesstraat

Warmoesstraat is one of the oldest streets in Amsterdam, running parallel to the river Amstel from Centraal Station to Dam Square. Its origins are in the 13th century. In the 16th and 17th century it was a shopping street. The poet Joost van den Vondel sold silk stockings here.
Today, the Warmoesstraat has a variety shops, bars (some of them aimed at a gay audience), restaurants, hotels, coffee shops and a few sex boutiques. It is located adjacent to the Red light district.
