Wardle is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. It is around twelve miles (19.3 km) to the north-north-east of the City of Manchester, and one mile (1.6 km) northeast of Rochdale.
The village contains a church (the original church is being converted to apartments) a number of pubs, local shops, St. James' Primary School and Wardle High School which is very well known locally for its brass bands.
Wardle is south of the Watergrove Reservoir and west of Littleborough.
The area used to fall in the ancient parish of Hundersfield.
The most famous Wardles from this village are the Wardles of Lancashire descended from Sir Roderick Wardle, JP
