Ward (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ward are an electronica duo consisting of David Meme and Richard Williams (from the emo band Calvados Beam Trio).
WARD need to be Richard Williams (Calvados Beam Trio/Noise Noise Alore!) and David Meme (MEME) in a collaborative experimental electronica project. They formed WARD in 1998 after writing Bare Stanhope in Islington, London. Richard has previously recorded tracks in 1313, who released an album on Union Mill Records. He now plays guitar in instrumental band, Calvados Beam Trio, who have released a 7" single on cult imprint Bearos Records and guitar in schizophrenic punk funk band Noise Noise Alore!. David has previously released under the name MEME on a variety of labels.
David and Richard originally met in the 1970s in Birmingham sharing a love of the Sinclair Spectrum 48k (Rubber key version). After many hours listening to Attic Attak they developed a shared interest in electronic music. Many years later they got back together to form WARD with Bare Stanhope their first (non) release. They have released on Static Caravan and LOCA records.
