The station is served by approximately two trains per hour on weekday off-peak and one train per hour on weekends, with additional services in peak hours. Limited stops services to Telarah, and services to Dungog or Scone also stop at Waratah.

Platform 1:

• Hunter Line - regional services to Newcastle.

Platform 2:

• Hunter Line - regional services to Maitland, Telarah, Dungog, Muswellbrook & Scone.
