This is a comprehensive discography of WarCry, an Asturias, Spain-based power metal band. WarCry has released five studio albums, one live album, one demo (released in 1997 while being just a side project from the members original bands), and one music video. This list does not include material performed by members or former members of WarCry that was recorded with Avalanch, Relative Silence, Darna, or Sauze.
WarCry was formed in 2001, after Víctor García and Alberto Ardines left Avalanch to form their own band. Self-titled debut album WarCry was released on April 17, 2002, but most of the members participed as guest musicians, joining the band a couple of months later. On December 1, 2002 they released their second studio album El Sello De Los Tiempos, all the members left their respective bands to be an entire part of WarCry, and Manuel Ramil joined them to be the keyboardist. On January 1, 2004 was released the third album Alea Jacta Est striking all the music stores around Spain; but after its release Alvaro Jardón decided to leave the band, being replaced by Roberto García, former bassist of Avalanch. Their forth studio album, ¿Dónde Está La Luz?, was released on February 1, 2005, considered by many fans as "their heaviest album to date".[1][2] This work was supported by a live concert named Directo A La Luz, which soonly was certified gold DVD.[3] La Quinta Esencia was the fifth album by the band, released on September 18, 2006 with a great acceptance by the fans and the press, taking them to the highest positions on the Spanish charts. Their sixth album was set to be released on May/June, 2008, Víctor García stated on the band's official website that: This album will express much duality in human beings, 'good' and 'evil'.[4]
WarCry is mostly influenced by bands like Manowar and Iron Maiden, with medieval and social themes, combining heavy, power, and adding sometimes a touch of progressive metal into their music. But perhaps, the band who marked their way to follow has been the also Asturian, power metal band Avalanch.
