Thank you for the gift on my talk page! All the best. Bobo. 01:43, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Defamatory content

I don't really understand how what I added was defamatory. All I changed was the description. The song is obviously more than just a song about "a man who is tired of using technology". You have heard it, yes? When taking it into context with the video and its original titles (Ayo Pornography), I think it's rather clear that that's what the song is about. Re:Jesse Sartain

I don't think the material inserted on Jesse Sartain meets Criteria #2 at WP:RFO. Comments like that are inserted into articles all the time, but almost none of them actually get oversighted. Nishkid64 (talk) 17:10, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

re: Invisible Man

Kinda iffy, this one. My first reaction was that it is not notable, however some of the individuals involved are notable and some have articles already. Then again, they have one album and I doubt that is on any major label. I'd say it could be kept for now, but even if so, the article is a disaster - the text is copied right from the band's website and the article itself should be moved to "The Invisible Man (band)". Formatting and spelling are screwed up too. I did a Google search, but there are about a trillion different entries for various Invisible Man's (films, books, etc). If you're really unsure, put the article up at WP:AfD and see what the consensus says. - eo 20:18, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Tricky question. I'd say you move the page to a new title with the special character in it; and then make Candice Hillebrand into a redirect page. Well-noticed! Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry 22:46, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, Archive 17!
Thank you for voicing your opinion in my RfA, which passed today with a unanimous 79/0/0 tally. It feels great to be appreciated, and I will try my best to meet everyone's expectations. If you have any advice or tips, feel free to pass them along, as I am sure that I will need them! Cheers, hmwith talk 21:40, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

American Zeitgeist

I'd have been tempted to leave it and reply that nobody was stopping them talking about that movie as they didn't mention the other movie. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 23:42, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Well that turned out to be the only page with "Zeitgeist" in the name that's not on the watchlist. I suspect the disambiguation will get hit again tomorrow when the protection expires. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 23:52, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Re: Confusion

Re your message: It's not a problem. It's all related to a particularly contentious Arbcom case over here. It's wrapping up soon. You're smart for not getting involved in it. I didn't think I was involved in it either, but I guess I'm peripherally involved now. -- Gogo Dodo 17:28, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

RFA counting glitch

You didn't mess up the tally, i just switched from neutral to support in a two-step process (to avoid edit conflicts) while you were updating the tally. For a short 2-minute interval, I !voted twice. --barneca (talk) 22:23, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Re: Artinc

Re your message: Possibly. The name makes me a little suspect, but the person does seem to be notable. Might want to leave a report at WP:COI/N. -- Gogo Dodo 03:35, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Pyongyang anon

Thanks for the head's up! I tried to be nice and informative, but I guess he was determined not to play well with others...<sigh> Dreadstar 05:26, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

I first found anon trying this, then anon was making personal "this isn't right" comments in various articles, then adding unsourced content to WP:BLP's and then topped it off by whatever anon was trying to prove with the Pyongyang edits - which was apparently to make the article conform to this pov. I'll answer your message here, since it's on the same topic. I wondered about that edit myself--whether Butcher got disgusted with the whole process and decided to blank the page. I think it's too soon to say based on one edit, but we'll watch his edits and decide based on what the IP does in the future. -Jmh123 05:11, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Good idea--I checked & the first blanking IP was from India, next from the Czech Republic. He's probably put out a call at a blog or fanboard or myspace site. -Jmh123 05:33, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
I checked with a friend who is more familiar with this type of music and she said she'd never heard of this guy. Her response to the statements in his post at the AfD: "I read that as mostly he has played with people who have played with famous people." She also gave me links to both a website and a forum each of which follows musicians of his era and genre, where searches I conducted for his name yielded no results. -Jmh123 22:06, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Zeitgeist (disambiguation): Talk

Hi, I noticed that you deleted the change I made to this page. I also noticed that you called me "dear". Wikipedians all have the same aim - to improve people's access to information. So as far as possible, Wikipedians should try to avoid rudeness to one another, don't you agree? What I posted is not discussion of the movie, but information about the deleted Wikipedia article. As for why I posted it - I just posted the following on CambridgeBayWeather's page, so I hope you don't mind if I copy and paste it here: Hi there. I see you deleted the link I added to this page giving as the reason "spam". The link was not intended to promote the film - I added it because it will be helpful to people coming to Wikipedia to find information on the film "Zeitgeist - The Movie". IMO one of the main purposes of Wikipedia is to help people who are trying to find out about things, and another is to provide links that will enable them to learn more. When I saw the film mentioned on a blog recently, I came to Wikipedia (as one does) to find out more. Upon discovering that the article about the film had been deleted, I found my way to the talk page, where there was a link identical to the one I posted. Following the link, I quickly decided the movie wasn't worth wasting my time on. Whoever posted that link probably saved me some time, for which I'm grateful. I get the impression that many people come to Wikipedia looking for information about the film. So hopefully you can see why I think it's a good idea for the link to be there. It is not a plea for the movie article to be restored, nor is it a discussion of the movie, nor is it inconveniencing anybody. It seems contrary to the spirit of Wikipedia to try and *prevent* people from finding out about stuff. I've restored the link now. If you still think it should be deleted, would you mind telling me why? Here or on my talk page, either is fine. I would happily delete it myself, if it seems like there is a good reason to do so. -Akiyama 15:56, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi again, I saw that you put a "you are in danger of violating the three revert-rule" sign on my user page. Thanks, but if you are going to use this after only two reverts, perhaps it would be a good idea to change the wording? Using it as it stands, after only two reverts, implies that you can be blocked from editing after making three reverts, which is not the case. Also, if you have the time, it would be polite when *twice* deleting something another user has posted to provide some sort of explanation, rather than posting a warning on that users page, as if they were a vandal. Nothing personal :-) I'm sure you're a nice guy and I can see you contribute a lot to Wikipedia. The problem with online communication is that it *is* so impersonal; it's so easy for people to misinterpret other people's intentions, or to forget that the person they are dealing with is another human being rather than some annoying computer glitch :-) -Akiyama 16:24, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
